Audio Forensic Center has a wide array of professional, calibrated playback and recording equipment and analysis software. Our laboratory is fully alarmed and we conform to accepted standards for handling and storage of evidence. We can accommodate nearly any tape or digital format using our professional-level recorders. We analyze video tapes in uncompressed format using professional video playback and recording devices (Sony, Panasonic, AVID) and analyze audio tapes using forensic-grade special recorders (JBR Technologies), including custom-modified decks for detecting alterations. We utilize Bruel and Kjaer and Hewlett-Packard "type 1" audio analyzers and measurement devices for calibrated recordings and measurements that comply with ANSI standards. We also have a MagnaSync 20-track recorder for playback of reel-to-reel police log tapes. Our lab has photo-microscropy capabilities for magnetic development of both video and audio tapes, and special interfaces for gathering voice exemplars over telephone lines. We have a full ensemble of software and hardware that is appropriate for forensic analysis of digital devices such as cellular phones, PDAs, etc. (Guidance Software Encase, Cellebrite, etc.). |
